David Crossland es diseñador de tipografías graduado con un MA en la carrera de Diseño Tipográfico de la Universidad de Reading (UK). Es consultor tipográfico, y referente del proyecto Open Font Library y del “movimiento tipográfico libre”. Es el diseñador de la familia Cantarell, seleccionada como la tipografía oficial para la interfase del entorno de escritorio libre GNOME.

Dave viaja por el mundo brindando talleres y conferencias sobre diseño tipográfico, con la finalidad de informar sobre las particularidades de los diferentes modelos de licenciamiento, presentar alternativas para la creación y distribución de tipografías bajo licencias libres y sumar nuevos diseñadores al movimiento.

Entrada libre y gratuita. Capacidad limitada.


David Crossland is type designer, graduated from the MA Typeface Design programme at the University of Reading (UK). He is currently a Font Consultant and leading contributor to the Open Font Library and the “libre font movement.” He is the designer of the Cantarell typeface, selected as the official typeface of the GNOME libre desktop environment.

Dave travels the world giving workshops and lectures on type design, in order to discuss licensing models, present alternatives for the creation and distribution of fonts with libre licenses, and involve new designers in the movement.
